What Is Initial Clinical Rehabilitation?
The Initial Clinical Rehabilitation session is the first and most important step in your rehabilitation journey. This 40-minute, one-on-one session is designed to understand your current limitations, assess your physical capabilities, and create a customized, long-term recovery plan tailored specifically to your body, condition, and lifestyle.
Unlike a general physiotherapy session, this appointment is rehab-focused—built around helping you regain strength, coordination, balance, and confidence in movement after injury, surgery, or illness.
What Happens in This 40-Minute Session?
Your session includes:
✅ 1. In-Depth Functional Assessment
We evaluate your mobility, balance, strength, coordination, and range of motion
We explore how your condition affects daily tasks like walking, standing, climbing stairs, or lifting
We look at real-world limitations and identify what’s preventing full independence or performance
✅ 2. Lifestyle & Goal Mapping
We discuss your home life, work demands, physical activities, and personal goals
Whether you want to return to sport, reduce fall risk, or walk unassisted, we build your plan accordingly
✅ 3. Movement Screening
We observe your natural movement patterns to spot imbalances, pain responses, or compensation habits
This may include gait analysis, posture check, squatting, reaching, or balance tests
✅ 4. Treatment Planning
We create a step-by-step plan to restore function, rebuild confidence, and reduce limitations
You’ll receive a breakdown of what areas we’ll target (e.g. lower limb, core, upper body, balance) and expected progress milestones
✅ 5. Light Introductory Exercises
If appropriate, we’ll begin with basic exercises to activate key muscles and assess tolerance
We’ll also provide homework exercises to build on your progress before the next visit
